Wonderfully complex and seductively expressed, the wine shows dark berry, tapenade, bouquet garni and vanillin oak characters on the nose, followed by a superbly weighted palate delivering terrific fruit power with refined texture and beautifully melded tannins. Multi-layered and impressively long with a satisfying finish. At it's best now to 2038. 96/100

Winemaking The microclimate is more aligned with northern Burgundy, and therefore winemaking from this region has been employed Hand harvested at optimum ripeness, the fruit was gently destemmed, with all seems being then returned to the ferment. Allowed to ferment naturally with only cap plunging until dry after 38 days. The fermented must was then sealed and allowed to sit for another 39 days before basket pressing directly to fine french oak.A wine for the cellar, a seminal wine in single site viticulture and a wine that will reward cellaring
